TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited pays tribute to its frontline workers: Celebrates Lineman Diwas

Bhubaneswar, 04/03/2022: TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited, a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, celebrated today as Lineman Diwas, paying tribute to the Company’s frontline workforce who contribute the most in the Company’s primary objective of uninterrupted power supply to all consumers. Dedicated and untiring support of all the linemen, even during the pandemic phase, was highly appreciated during the event. 76 linemen were awarded as Best Lineman – 2022 in the event for their contribution at workplace during the past year.

The event saw participation of over 15,000 employees as well as employees of Business Associates at Head Office and 20 Divisional locations through online and offline platforms.

The linemen present on the occasion stated that it’s for the first time that their work has been recognized by dedicating a day to them. They appreciated this initiative from TPCODL.

TPCODL which always maintains safety as one of its core values also started observing National Safety Week from today. In the week to come till 10th March, the Company plans to spread awareness about safety at workplace and in daily life among its employees and customers through various platforms. Starting from Safety banners across locations to compulsory safety pledge at workplace to communication on safety through various competitions, TPCODL has multiple initiatives to create and strengthen Safety culture at workplace and integrating the same with work culture.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. M. Shenbagam, Chief Executive Officer, TPCODL said, “Our linemen braved the pandemic and worked out in public spaces to maintain power supply. Even when there is no pandemic, their work of keeping the power lines working is extremely challenging for extreme temperature and natural calamities. We take this opportunities to express our gratitude to all the linemen and request everyone to follow safety norms always.”
