Kalinganagar, September 14, 2022: With an objective to enhance the skill level of local youths who have completed ITI and Diploma courses, Tata Steel Foundation has facilitated training for a one-month fitter training at TSSDS Pvt ITI Jagannathpur under West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.
A batch of 16 youth from Kalinganagar and nearby region were sent for the one-month training on Wednesday during an event organised in the office of Tata Steel Foundation at Duburi.
As part of the screening process, skill assessment was done for 42 students from in and around Kalinganagar who had completed ITI and Diploma courses in the last couple of years. In the assessment test, it was found that due to the pandemic the students could not attend their practical classes which had created a gap in their skill set especially in practical. To bridge this gap,
Tata Steel Foundation roped in TSSDS Pvt ITI Jagannathpur for enhancing the skills of the students and 16 students who showed interest in the training were sent to TSSDS Pvt ITI, Jagannathpur which is managed and run by Tata Steel Foundation.
It may be noted here that more such students will be sent for similar training in the coming months to make them industry ready.
