Tata Power Breaks the Bias with its ‘All Women Shift’ Operations at Khopoli Hydro Power Station

National, March 08th, 2022: With an aim to provide equal opportunities to everyone, Tata Power today celebrated International Women’s Day by running ‘All Women Shift’ Operations under the theme of #BreakTheBias at its Khopoli Hydro Power Station.

The company has always worked towards creating an inclusive environment for women by imbibing path-breaking people practices. Today’s morning shift operations at the Khopoli Hydro Power plant was managed by Ms Neha Bande (Operation Engineer on Duty – Khopoli and Bhivpuri), Ms Sayani Chatterjee (Assistant Operation Engineer on Duty - Khopoli), Mrs Anuja Patil (Lead Engineer – Maintenance) along with three trainees Ms Afrin Jamadar (DET), Ms Siddhi Humbe (DET) and Ms Aarti Chavan (DET).

Mr Praveer Sinha, CEO&MD, Tata Power said, “Tata Power is focused and committed towards creating a diverse and inclusive culture with unique curated programs & policies in place, to support our women employees. We have fully women-run customer care centres at our Delhi and Odisha discoms, and I am proud to see women taking up unconventional roles across our business clusters, leading the projects, taking up the CXO positions and proving themselves across all domains.”

The company strongly believes this step will further promote the participation of women employees at O&M functions. It will also help in driving the change and get all genders in the decision making process. It is confident that this step will further challenge all the stereotypes existing for women working in manufacturing and O&M functions.
