Road Safety Month Campaign kick starts at Tata Steel Kalinganagar

Kalinganagar, January18, 2022: The 33rd ‘National Road Safety Month’ campaign was launched at Tata Steel Kalinganagar on Tuesday. The campaign aims at improving road safety, minimise road crash casualties and creating awareness among the employees and local community on road safety.

Keeping in mind, the prevailing situation of COVID-19, the month-long campaign was launched in an online event that was graced by Mr Karamveer Singh, General Manager Operations, Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) as Chief Guest along with Mr Rama Raman Satapathy, General Manager, Corporate Services, TSK. Among others present on the occasion were senior leadership of Kalinganagar, employees and business partners.

During the month-long awareness campaign, the importance of road safety will be communicated in a lucid manner and efforts will be made to make people understand and appreciate their responsibilities towards road safety, as responsible citizens. It may be noted here that the month-long events will focus on behaviour change communication with the theme “Break the Habit – Don’t Drive Rashly.”

Tata Steel considers “safety” to be its one of the most important core values and not just a metric to measure performance. This initiative is expected to inculcate the importance of road safety rules among our employees and people living in and around Kalinganagar.
