Case Filed Against Power Theft: TP Sourthen Odisha Distribution Limited Takes Action

Berhampur, 6th June: TP Sourthen Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has taken decisive steps to combat the unethical practice of power theft. Recently, a case has been filed against a consumer in Kabisuryanagar for unauthorized use of electricity, involving tampering with electric equipment and illegally connecting his electricity line.

The individual in question had an outstanding electricity bill, which led to the disconnection of his electric connection. Subsequently, a case has been lodged at Kabisuryanagar police station, citing the violation of provisions under the Indian Electricity Act for illegally connecting electricity to his premises. TPSODL emphasized the importance of all customers obtaining legitimate electricity connections, as power theft causes substantial losses for the company.

Power theft is a serious offense that not only results in financial losses but also disrupts the equitable distribution of electricity to legitimate consumers. TPSODL remains committed to providing reliable and affordable electricity to its customers while taking appropriate measures to curb power theft and ensure a fair system for all.

TPSODL has been actively raising awareness about the negative impacts of power theft and encouraging consumers to report any instances they come across. The company remains focused on ensuring the availability of uninterrupted and reliable power supply to its customers, and will continue its efforts to combat power theft in the region. The company calls upon the public to support these initiatives and contribute to a more sustainable energy future.
